PostgreSQL 8.4 发布！
继续保持成为世界上开发最迅速的开源数据库。这个发布版本在管理，查询和PostgreSQL数据库编程方面提供了大量改进，让PostgreSQL比以前更加容易使用，在功能性方面，开发团队花费16个月时间添加了超过200个功能性的改进。

- Parallel Database Restore, speeding up recovery from backup up to 8 times

Version 8.4 also makes data analysis easier through the advanced ANSI SQL2003 features of windowing functions, common table expressions and recursive queries. Enhancements to stored procedures, such as default parameters and variadic parameters, make database server programming simpler and more compact.
